Diagnosis Update from Bret Miller

Hello everyone, some of you already know but I wanted to share some news/updates about me... Although I've kicked its ass for 15 years, what I always feared has come back. My breast cancer is now metastatic, it's retuned in my lungs and bones mostly in my torso area. It is HER2 positive. As of today, I  have completed 5 rounds of radiation for a larger spot on my collar bone and left side of ribs. I’ve also completed one round of Enhertu. That will consist of 6-9 rounds of Enhertu every 3 weeks. This is a her2 positive targeted treatment, this is a good thing.

The love and support I have already received is overwhelming. It's just what I need to fuel my fight! I'm fighting not only for myself but Tasha, Riley, Ryder and of course Salvy. To my Mom, Dad, Blake, Bobby and Morgan thank you, you keep me going every day.

This isn't going to be easy but because of all my family, friends and my second family The  members of the Carriage Club,  I will kick cancers ass again.

Before I sign off on this update I want to remind you all to be adamant about your health. This all started as an ongoing cough for several months. I had gone to doctors a few times and they gave me meds that stopped the cough for a while. Then the pain in my collarbone started getting worse. I first thought oh man this is almost 40, I slept wrong and now have this pain in my shoulder area. When the cough got to be too much and the pain in my collarbone got to a point I couldn’t raise my arm above my shoulder. I decided enough was enough. I went to the doctor and basically said, ”I wasn't leaving until I got an X-ray.” I'm glad I did because I got a call about an hour after the scans and that's when I knew it was back. Be your own best advocate because you know your body best! Get to a doctor and if they brush you off as something else but you feel it's something different demand care, get that second opinion.

As my good friend Tim Grimes said during his battle several years ago, I'm still here and I'm #NotGoingAnywhere.

Remember #MenHaveBreastsToo and #TogetherWeWillChangetheWorld.

Keep Fighting!
